MISSION
I began my journey to becoming a scientist, an educator and a researcher in India. Growing up in rural India faced with challenges in gathering resources and opportunities motivated me to participate in educating our communities. I believe that every individual has immense potential to be whatever they want.
My efforts towards educating our communities focusses on a) interactive and hands-on learning experience using simple backyard science approach in contrast to virtual learning. b) motivating by discussing my own journey to be an academic to students & children from rural areas. c) address skill-gap and enable more graduates to obtain STEM careers - A STEM foundation, India partnership.
A key step towards bringing more women (other underrepresented minorities, first generation university goers) to STEM and retaining them in STEM is to provide a sense of belonging and inclusion. Having navigated through some of the situations myself, I value an open-minded, all inclusive collaboration to achieve this. Retraining women (underrepresented minorities and first generation university goers) to communicate effectively and confidently to better integrate in STEM work environment are my goals.

MEDIA ENGAGEMENT TO COMMUNICATE RESEARCH IN SCHOOLS
Skype a Scientist matches scientists with classrooms around the world! It gives students the opportunity to get to know a “real scientist”. This program allows to reach-out to students from all over the world without having to leave the lab!
EXPERT WOMEN IN STEM SCIENTIST TO ENGAGE IN SCIENCE COMMUNICATION
WMC SheSource is an online database of media-experienced women experts who are connected to journalists, bookers and producers looking for sources.
TEACHING IN SCHOOLS
Junior Achievement's Purpose is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. Junior Achievement of Northern California is one of the largest organizations dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their futures, and make smart academic and economic choices.
Conducted a 8week course on Global Marketplace.
HANDS ON SCIENCE LEARNING VOLUNTEER
Science Buddies mission is to help students from all walks of life to build their literacy in science and technology. It provides a bridge between scientists and students, giving students access to current scientific research and simultaneously giving scientists a way to reach out to young people interested in their fields.
MEDIA ENGAGEMENT TO COMMUNICATE SCIENCE
SciLine is an independent, freely available service providing timely access to trustworthy, articulate experts for journalists and other communicators producing print, broadcast, or digital stories about science-related issues.
EXHIBITION - SCIENCE THROUGH EXPERIMENTS
Scientific Adventures for Girls (SAFG) provides after school and summer STEM programs to young children with a special focus on girls and underserved youth. SAFG's goals are to increase positive attitudes toward STEM in K-5th grade female students and to increase hands-on learning opportunities for girls to explore STEM concepts and encourage lifelong learning of STEM subjects.
STIMULUS OUTREACH TEACH ELECTRICITY TO HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS
STIMULUS is a community service programme which gives Cambridge University students the opportunity to work with pupils in local schools, helping with Maths, Science, Computing or Technology lessons.
Conducted an 8 week course on teaching electrical engg concepts and its practical applications in household.
TUTORED HORIZON 20-20 GLOBAL CHALLENGES
Combating climate change, establishing gender equality, preserving biodiversity, access to education and eliminating poverty will require the best available minds to measure and predict impacts and to identify solutions.
Conducted a 10 week course as a tutor.
